RAPPER Kagiso Montoedi, better known as Regee Scorpio, said he wants to be on top of the game.
The 24-year-old told Daily Sun that he believes in hard work, and it will eventually pay off.
The musician from Soweto said he has been taking baby steps but hopes to get his biggest break.
"I started recording my first official song in 2014 on rapper Nas' instrumental (One Mic). I was only known for being good on feature hooks and back when I was doing rap battles," he said.
Regee Scorpio said he grew listening to a lot of music being played at home and that's where his inspiration comes from.
"The Legendary O'jays , Phil Collins on the other side... My brothers and uncles playing The Mobb Deep. I took inspiration from them,” he said.
Regee Scorpio said he has never looked ever since he tapped into music.
"I've worked with a lot of people and I even have songs I wrote for known artists. The biggest highlight was when I received a co-sign from the late Riky Rick in 2020," he said.

"Internationally I wish to work with Santan Dave, Dave East, Stormzy and locally with Touchline work, Lokii, and Thato Saul. These artists really know how put life into songs like I'm doing with my songs,” he said.
He said he released an EP called Deep Ends last year and dedicated it to his late brother, Phumlani.
This is something that he wanted to give as a warm-up to his upcoming album titled Before the Finals, which defines what happened before the come-up.
"The album is basically a series based on the story of my musical journey. I gave this one my all and it's an introduction of me to the industry/fame life hence it's called Before the Finals. If it happens, it opens a lot of doors for me then I'll look back and say I made it to the finals," he said.
