ALL Spokenpriestess wants is for people of Mzansi to enjoy their African sounds together.
The 32-year-old, whose real name's Precious Nkadimeng, has started an African karaoke event called Afri-Sauti that takes place every month.
It's strictly for African songs so patrons can sing along in their mother tongue.
The Afro-beats DJ from Tshwane said she was inspired by her love for African culture.
“It's basically a concept that wants African people to sing karaoke in their home languages. Most times when you go to karaoke shows, it’s always English songs and mostly ones from America,” she said.
Spokenpriestess said the event was launched in February.

“We’ve had three shows already and people are enjoying it. They were shocked, but also excited to sing African songs. When we sing these songs, we bring the culture into the karaoke space. It becomes a family party,” she said.
“With the word ‘Sauti’ meaning ‘sound’ in KiSwahili, the name is a perfect description for the root of the African karaoke offering. I'm looking forward to seeing this idea reach new heights.”
She said attendees can expect to sing along to songs by AKA, Brenda Fassie, Burna Boy, Lebo Mathosa and Tiwa Savage, among others.
“The aim is to one day encompass as many African songs as possible in various languages spoken across the continent to fully represent the vastness and diversity of its people,” she said.
