Themba Lukhele, better known as Skeem GP, encourages young people not to do crime.

Ex-CON Themba "Skeem GP" Nzimande believes people can change and be educated.

He told Daily Sun it's almost impossible to stand up and be vertical above ground because people judge you after serving time.

Author, business specialist, and motivational speaker Themba grew up in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni. He spent seven years at the Boksburg Correctional Centre and is currently out on parole.

He was arrested for robbery, kidnapping, impersonation of a police officer and malicious damage to property.

The 45-year-old spoke about difficulties faced by ex-offenders as they try to fit into society and how he dealt with the challenges.

The TV personality said it took him 14 years to rebrand himself. He has a YouTube podcast where he interviews ex-offenders and a TV show called Most Wanted.

"I was famous, I had money and drove nice cars, but when I was released from prison, it was twice as hard for me. I'm still fighting," Themba said.

"Coming out of jail is not child's play. Don't expect a hero's welcome."

Themba, who is also writing his soon-to-be-released third book, advised his fans and followers to aim for the stars.

"I know that many people know the Against The Wall Podcast, whose aim is to help ex-cons integrate back to society and educate them.

"Being an ex-offender, I could understand how it feels. You're called names, and you feel like the world is on your shoulders," Themba said.

He always asks people what should be written on their tombstones. His would have, "He had a good life", and that would make him happy.

"I'm a Christian, so I believe in blessings and giving. Seeing someone happy, is fulfilling because our purpose is to make the world a better place."
