AFRO-SOUL singer and songwriter Samukelisiwe Mahamba is popular with her fans as Samu Walker.
Samu Walker never missed a chance to showcase her talents when she was young.
The 21-year-old from Lynnville in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga told Daily Sun she always grabbed opportunities with both hands.
She's happy that those opportunities made her who she is today.
"I'm releasing my first EP titled It's Real on 28 April, and I can just say that my EP was just a labour of love and so much gratitude," Samu Walker said.
Some of her previous songs include Phendula, Sunshine, and Siyakhuleka.
"I'm born in a family of natural singers, but I specifically got my inspiration from my aunt Nonhlanhla Kgapola. I used to watch her sing from a very young age, and she sounded amazing and looked so alive whenever she performed," she said.

The singer said that's when she knew that music is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
"I started singing at the age of six years. I was always given a chance to lead in school and church choirs," she said.
Samu Walker said she professionally started making music in 2020.
"I wanted to give my talent an opportunity. Fortunately, I became so good and passionate about it and have never looked back," she said.
"I have worked with some great producers before, including 1F4our1, Sinny Man-Que, Soa Mattrix, DJ Mix, and DJ Moscow. I'm currently signed under Sambo Records," she said.
The musician said working with these producers was such an amazing experience.
"I'm glad it happened at such an early stage of my career. This is because it was eye-opening.
"I would like to work with Babalwa because her sound, writing skill, and flow are unique. I think I can learn a few techniques from her to help me improve as an up-and-coming artist," she added.
