AFRO-house singer and TV host, Holly Rey Wasserfall's latest TV show is something close to her heart.

The 27-year-old musician said she has been doing great work with her latest TV show, Baking with The Reys.

Holly Rey told Daily Sun that baking is something she enjoys doing, and she's been receiving great reviews from her fans and viewers at home.

"On the show I bake with my little sister and co-host Mimi Rey. We started baking together during the Covid-19 lockdown and our posts received so much love. The momentum grew and we found some sponsors and a full-production TV show was born. You can catch Baking With The Reys on SABC3 every Tuesday at 4.30pm," she said.

The presenter said there are more interesting scenes that will be on her show.

"We believe that it is a fresh take on cooking shows. It appeals to multigenerational families and is meant to inspire more people to get back into the kitchen and learn to bake,” she said.

Holly Rey said they show people just how easy and fun it can be to bake with their families, and how much kids can learn from the process of baking.

The singer said besides her cooking show, she will be releasing her latest single titled Slow Down on Friday, 28 April.

"Slow Down does not disappoint and it leans into the chilled vibes and resigned easy vocals that everyone knows me for. The track merges my love of house and Afro-beat into a Pan-African Dance track," she said.

She said this song featured the signature vocals of fellow Durbanite and hip-hop sensation BLXCKIE, who brings his unique blend of trap hip-hop and Afro-beat to the single.

"The track is about the beginning phases of a relationship. The girl wants to take it slow and get to know the boy and it speaks to the dynamic that often exists in new relationships. Sometimes one person is all in and knows that this is what they want, and the other person isn't,” she said.

Holly Rey said it's all about being a little more cautious and wanting to take things slow.

"I feel a lot of people will be able to relate to the lyrics of the song and I feel that they are going to love the beat and the melody. It has a cool sing-along dance vibe," she said.

Holly Rey said she is happy she worked with someone she has always wanted to work with.

"The minute the writing and the music was in place for the song, I knew straight away that Blxckie was the only guy who could do justice on the track,” she said.

The musician said she then reached out and he was all in.

"He came into the studio the day he was leaving for America. We had limited time, but he absolutely nailed it and was back on his way to catch his flight," Holly Rey said.
