LESEDI FM presenter Seipati Twasa Seoke has dedicated her newly received MBA to her late dad.
The former Jam Alley host just bagged her MBA from GIBS Business School, something her dad couldn't do because he had to drop out.
She told Daily Sun that she’s happy to have received the MBA and feels like a relief from the pressure.
“I think anybody who's been through an MBA will tell you it’s high pressure, particularly the GIBS MBA. But I feel privileged and proud of the achievement. My dad dropped out of his MBA because I was involved in a car accident.
“It shocked him so much that he couldn’t continue. So for me, to have gone into the programme, and graduated. I feel like I’ve come full circle and broken through a glass ceiling for my dad. I also set a tone for my family and those who’ve been following my career to say, ‘It is a steep mountain, it seems impossible, but we can do it',” she said.

Twasa said she’ll use the qualification to get into the corporate space and hopefully academia.
“An MBA gives you the tools to go into corporate or management to start your own business. My heart is in business and academia itself. And scooping the research dissertation award yesterday really speaks to my hunger for academia, especially research.
“I’m looking into the possibility of going into corporate. I’d also like to get into lecturing and consulting,” she said.
However, the radio presenter said her desire to get into corporate will not let her drop radio.
“I appreciate how the job landscape has changed in the past years, especially because of Covid-19. There are flexible working hours and looking at trends of the types of contracts that exist, I can do both. I’ve never had to let go of radio to explore other things. So, I can do both,” Twasa said.
She said she hopes to inspire other people to go for their dreams.
“I hope this inspires other people to pursue their dreams. And I’d like to acknowledge Tumelo Chaka from GIBS. When I told him about this dream, he said could do it. I don’t know if I would’ve come this far without his influence,” she said.
Twasa also got her postgraduate diploma in general management from the Gordon Institute of Business School last year.
