RADIO presenter Twasa has opened up about being a student.

The media personality, whose real name is Seipati Seoke, is now in her fourth year of studying Programme for Management Development (PMD) at GIBS Business School.

Twasa, who hosts Monate Breakfast Show on Lesedi FM, said she cried after she wrote her first exam because it was hard.

“I am now in my fourth year of studying. When I started towards a GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) PMD, I didn’t think I’d finish the course; this was in 2019. After writing my first exam, I cried throughout the drive back home. I was devastated by how much of the paper I couldn’t understand. But I answered anyway and cried afterwards. Needless to say, I passed,” she wrote on LinkedIn.

She said she didn’t quit because she taught herself to finish what she started, and had surrounded herself with people who were good for her.

“The only reason I’m still in the game is because I daily choose to stay and finish what I started. The discipline of surrounding myself with people who remind me of my reasons for getting started spur me on when I have nothing in me left to remind myself. I have chosen to be a finisher. Never underestimate the power of small steps, daily decisions and the voices you allow to speak to you. Keep moving towards your goal. Our dreams are valid,” she wrote.

Two weeks earlier, she celebrated 22 years as a host on Lesedi FM, and also shared her journey on LinkedIn.

“On 3 January marked exactly 22 years of broadcasting on Lesedi FM. I have progressed from the midnight show to being co-host of the biggest show in the station, Monate Breakfast Show, with well over 1,3 million listeners. If there is anything I have learnt from my most successful predecessors, such as Pontsho Makhetha, is that consistency of excellence in delivery and seasonally reinventing yourself will anchor you in the game,” she wrote at the time.
