FORMER Orlando Pirates player, Thamsanqa Gabuza will appear in the Alexandra Magistrates Court on Monday, 11 December.
In November 2023, the soccer star was released on R3 000 bail. This after he was charged with malicious damage to property.
On Wednesday, 22 November, the 36-year-old was told by the court that they still needed to investigate further. This was during his first appearance after handing himself over to cops at Bramley Police Station on Tuesday, 21 November.
During his appearance, magistrate Peggy Senne said he will get R3 000 bail after his defence lawyer, Themba Ngobeni said it's still the middle of the month and he hasn't been paid.
The prosecutor, Tshiego Deka read out his bail conditions that he must not go near his complaint and must not be in communication with her. She said he must attend all his court hearings and must not commit a similar offense as he will be taken back to jail.
The player was investigated by police after cases of attempted rape, malicious damage to property and domestic violence were opened against him on 11 November 2023.
The star, who has also played for SuperSport United among other teams, allegedly tried to rape his ex-girlfriend at her Sandton home on the same day the case was opened.
The 31-year-old woman, who is an online teacher, previously spoke to Daily Sun about her ordeal allegedly at the hands of the player.
She said they met in 2021 and became friends before trying out a romantic relationship, which never worked. On the other hand, the player claimed that the woman was his wife.

Meanwhile, TV host and rapper, Jub Jub will also appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 11 December.
The presenter, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, faces multiple charges including rape and assault. His case was postponed in November 2023 as the state needed more time to consult with with the witnesses and complainants.
During the court proceedings, the magistrate argued with his representative, Terrence Ntsako Baloyi from Baloyi Ntsako Attorneys, that they cannot extend the dates further as this should be their priority.
He was also asked if this was a matter of life and death, but said it was about his tour. In October 2023, Baloyi asked for an adjournment so he could consult and study the docket further.
In July 2023, the Uyajola 9/9 presenter was released on R10 000 bail. This after he handed himself over to the Brixton Police Station.
Some of his bail conditions included that he should not communicate with the victims or the complainants or attempt to contact them.
