JUB JUB'S case has been postponed until November!

The musician and TV presenter made a brief appearance in the Joburg Magistrates Court on Thursday, 24 August.

He faces charges of rape, attempted murder and assault.

The matter has been postponed to 8 November after his lawyer, Terrence Ntsako Baloyi from Baloyi Ntsako Attorneys, asked for an adjournment so he could consult and study the docket further.

In July, the Uyajola 99 presenter whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, was released on bail of R10 000 after he handed himself over to the Brixton Police Station.

Some of his bail conditions included that he should not communicate with the victims or the complainants, or attempt be in contact with them.

The 43-year-old musician was also told to leave his passport with the investigative officer and if he did not comply with these conditions, he would be taken back to jail.

Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Phindi Mjonodwane spokeswoman said the first case against Jub Jub was opened in February 2022, and there are three complaints in this matter.

She also added that the police are still doing further investigation.

"We, as the NPA, were ready for trial. But his defence said they needed more time to study his docket," Mjonodwane said.
