IF there is one thing Khanyi Mbau will do, it’s to disappear.
This past weekend, she was set to host the Basadi In Music Awards, but dumped them a few hours before the show. The awards were on Saturday, 12 August at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein.
Changes were done on the day of the event and radio presenter Unathi Nkayi was announced as the new host.

Khanyi drops the Basadi In Music Awards
A few hours before the awards started, they released a statement announcing that Khanyi would no longer be hosting the awards. She was announced as the host last month.
“The organisers of Basadi in Music Awards have announced musician, media personality and author Unathi Nkayi as the host of this year’s Basadi in Music Awards.
“It was initially announced that the event would be hosted by actress and musician Khanyi Mbau who, due to unforeseen circumstances, would no longer be at the helm,” the statement read.

Khanyi disappears in Dubai
In August 2021, people in Mzansi stopped their lives to look for a missing Khanyi. She allegedly left her boyfriend, Kudzai Mushonga in Dubai. This is after she claimed she was going to the salon, only to take a flight to Mzansi without informing her man.
Kudzai looked for help on social media, while also expressing how heartbroken he was.
“I have not cheated on you since the day I met you. I have taken care of you since day one. Why do I get treated like this? You have not seen anything on my phone because when it comes to you, I am honest. Why this, my love? You are really hurting me,” he said.
When the SunTeam reached out to Khanyi at the time, she said: “I am safe and sound, Thank you.”
Khanyi disappears from Instagram
Khanyi’s man, Kudzai planned a romantic Valentine’s Day for her in February 2021 and the media personality took to social media to brag about what her man did for her. He surprised her with a violinist, more than 1 000 roses and presents from Louis Vuitton.
While people were still admiring the gesture and some green with envy, Khanyi disappeared from Instagram. She deleted her profile, leaving people wondering what had gone wrong after such a romantic gesture.
Daily Sun tried to get comment from Khanyi with regards to Basadi In Music Awards, but she had not responded by the time of publishing.
