REALITY TV star Lasizwe Dambuza will be going on dates with other celebs for his upcoming show.

The YouTube show called Awkward Dates will follow him as he goes on dates with different celebs from Mmusi Maimane to Mihlali Ndamase, Khanyi Mbau, Kamo Mphela, Toss and Lungile Mcunu.

Speaking to Daily Sun about the show, he said he wants fans to see a different side to their favourite celebs.

“I get to interview every person who people see as serious or closed off. From the likes of Mmusi Maimane, basically, I went on a date with a married man. Even my brother, Lungile Mcunu, we all see him as this serious type. So, we’ll get to tear them down, and ask what their favourite colour is, are they the big spoon or the small spoon when cuddling?

“So, people will get to see their favourite celebrities in different lights, and I’m excited about that,” he said.

This is not the first show where Lasizwe puts celebs in the hot seat. Last year, he did another show called Drink Or Tell The Truth, where he asked his guests questions and they had to answer or drink a concoction.

“The previous show was very spicy, trending. So, I wanted to change things up a bit and give people content that they can watch with their families over wine and pizza. And just for them to see the people they usually admire in a distance,” Lasizwe said.

Awkward Dates premieres in July 2023.

“It will go live on my birthday. This is basically a gift to myself to just say I have grown and well done to myself,”  said Lasizwe.

The last time he spoke to the SunTeam, he had just started his sobriety journey.

Speaking about how it’s been going, he said: “My sabbatical is just a beautiful journey. It has shown me that in life, you have choices. I can choose whether I drink or not. I don’t feel forced to drink.”
