A 53-YEAR-OLD man will appear in the Nkandla Magistrates Court for malicious damage to property and theft.
The man was arrested in connection to the robbery at renowned sport presenter Robert Marawa's business property.
The man will be making his second appearance on Monday, 19 February, after he appeared on 27 November 2023 and remanded in custody.
This is after the incident that occurred at Robert’s business premises in Nkandla, northern KZN, on 5 November to 25 November 2023.
Sources around Robert’s business property told Daily Sun the property was targeted by thugs who break-in and steal.
Robert (50) owns business property in his birth home of Nkandla called Fort Louis also known as KwaMarawa.
He inherited it from his late father Flank Marawa, who was a well-known businessman in Nkandla and Durban.
Sources close to Marawa's business property told Daily Sun that the property, which is rented by other businesspeople who are running a spaza shop, supermarket, and bottle store was damaged and some of the materials were stolen.
“In this business property there are three buildings for business and the one that was damaged is for a spaza shop known as KwamaMchunu by Nkandla residents.
“KwamMchunu is the only one that is currently operating as the two are currently closed due to break-ins and theft.”

Another source told Daily Sun the business property belonging to the Marawa Sports Worldwide host is now in a quiet place, where it is easier for thugs to do as they pleased.
“Out of three buildings, there is only one that is running, which is a spaza shop. The supermarket and bottle store are currently closed because of the non-stop break-ins because the business property is not fenced,” source said.
KZN police spokesman Colonel Robet Netshiunda confirmed that the suspect will appear on 19 February.
