INKABI ZEZWE are ploughing back to their community following the success of their album titled Ukhamba

The duo, made of Siyabonga "Big Zulu" Nene and Jabulani "Sjava" Hadebe, will donate 1 300 pairs of school shoes to their hometown school in Bergville, KZN Midlands.

The Umbayimbayi hitmakers will donate school shoes at Myendane primary school on Wednesday, 7 February.

The duo released their debut single titled Umbayimbayi on 24 March 2023, and it reached platinum status and reached more than 2,8 million streams in less than a month.

They released a successful album titled Ukhamba in May, followed by many live shows that earned them a reality documentary series called Inkabi Zezwe: The Making of Ukhamba, which aired on SABC1 in November 2023.

Their long-awaited album, requested by their fans, was released under Warner Music South Africa.

Warner Music South Africa publicity coordinator Eric Gyimah told Daily Sun that their purpose is to plough back to the community after they supported the Ukhamba album in 2023.

“This programme is aimed to make a difference in the lives of residents in the village where Big Zulu and Sjava come from and develop the children.

“They'll donate 1 300 school shoes to Myendane Primary School located in their rural hometown of Bergville. Initially, they were going to donate at Bonjaneni and Hambrook primary schools, but it has changed."

He said their initiative that is meant to make a difference in people’s lives is sponsored by Hollywood Bets.

“We're passionate about the difference that is made by this initiative in people’s lives,” he said.

Big Zulu confirmed to Daily Sun that they'll donate school shoes to the school in their hometown.

“I can confirm that we will donate school shoes but at the moment, I can’t say much because I’m still waiting for more details about it,” he said.

Inkabi Zezwe recently scooped the Most Voted Song of the Year award at the South African Traditional Music Awards (Satmas).
