AWARD-WINNING musicians Sjava (39) and Big Zulu (37) will be leading a six-part documentary series called Inkabi Zezwe: The Making of Ukhamba.

The series will start on Monday, 6 November at 9pm on SABC1.

When the broadcaster announced the show, it was said to be about the making of their debut album, Ukhamba.

"This documentary is a heartfelt tribute to their remarkable collaboration, revealing the intricacies of their creation, the inspiration that drives their music and the cultural tapestry that underpins their shared identity.

"The documentary offers an intimate glimpse into the immersive recording process for Inkabi Zezwe's full-length album Ukhamba. What makes this creative endeavour so special is its backdrop — Bergville, the birthplace and home of both artists. This proximity to home ensures that their music carries the pure essence of the green hills where they grew up and the people who nurtured their artistic spirit," SABC said.

Sjava and Big Zulu founded the group earlier this year, 2023. At the time, they told Daily Sun that they did it at the request of their fans.

"Our fans asked us to work together because we are both from the same hometown. It was also our wish to work together as brothers to show unity. We decided to honour this request," Big Zulu said.
