Following blockbuster reports suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier was racist and Islamophobic at his previous club, the manager has now responded to the accusations.

On Wednesday, French journalist Romain Molina claimed to have information proving that Galtier said that his former team OGC Nice had too many black and Muslim players.

This information was reportedly obtained through a leaked email sent from the club's former director of football Julien Fournier to Nice's owners, detailing the comments the French tactician had made.

With the remarks said to have been made during the 2021/22 campaign, other reports have suggested that Galtier also asked his Muslim players at Nice to not participate in the fast during Ramadan.

In a statement released by his lawyer Oliver Martin to French media, Galtier has revealed that he was "stunned to learn of the insulting and defamatory" report, and added that he would be taking legal action as a result.

According to RMC Sport, an investigation has now been launched by PSG into the allegations against their manager.

A group of Les Parisiens supporters have since called for Galtier's dismissal if it is proved he made the alleged remarks.

"The Ultras Paris Collective is closely following the Galtier case," a statement from the supporters group read, per AFP.

"If the facts he is accused of are proven, it is not acceptable that this person remains in the organisational chart of the club.

"We recall that we have always taken a stand against all forms of discrimination."
