She's just stepped off the set of the new season of Noughts & Crosses and she's stepped right into another international production.

But it's nothing new to her.  She has previously appeared in international films such as Clint Eastwood's Oscar-award-winning Invictus, Catch a Fire, and Drum.

Now TV presenter, author, and actress Bonnie Mbuli has been cast to join AMC’s The Driver, an upcoming series based on the 2014 British drama about a taxi driver, played by Giancarlo Esposito whose life takes a drastic turn when he starts to work for a gang.

The Zimbabwean gangster based in New Orleans, played by Zackary Momoh, is notorious and feared for exploiting undocumented immigrants.

Bonnie shared international reports of her latest venture with her social media followers. She will be playing the role of Shamiso Tongai who is very wary of strangers and protective of her family.

Recently, Bonnie played Jasmine Hadley, Sephy Hadley's mother in BBC series, Noughts & Crosses.

Bonnie’s career began at 13 years old after being discovered at a bus stop by a modeling and acting agent on her way to school and since then, she has had several career highlights in TV presenting, modeling and acting.

Earlier this year when The Driver was announced, actors Danny Brocklehurst and Giancarlo Esposito shared their excitement with AMC.

Giancarlo Esposito said, “I am over the moon excited, enthused, and inspired to be in collaboration with the stellar network and creative team of AMC! Thanks for believing in me. It’s great to be back home!”

Danny Brocklehurst told the channel that it is only a pleasure and a privilege to be working with AMC on this bold reimagining of my U.K. mini-series. "Sunu Gonera and Theo Travers have both brought superb original voices to the premise and I am thrilled to be going on this ride with them," he said.

The six-part series is set to launch on AMC and AMC+.
