THE Mofokeng family is looking for help to find their missing 16-year-old daughter, Dineo.
It's reported that the grade 10 Fundulwazi Secondary School pupil was last seen on Saturday morning, 9 December. The family was attending a funeral in another area and when they came back, Dineo was gone.
Uncle George Motsoeneng from Sebokeng zone 13, Vaal told Daily Sun they had hoped Dineo would come back home the next day as she was maybe scared that she didn’t sleep at home, but she never showed up.
"The day my niece disappeared, the family had gone to a funeral in Free State. They could go with Dineo because the car was full. She was left home alone.
"She didn’t have plans and we knew she's always home doing house chores, reading books and playing on her phone. That made us relax when we left her alone,” he said.

He said when Dineo didn’t come back home, they searched almost everywhere for her.
"We even brought cops to search her boyfriend’s home, but there was no sign of Dineo. We're asking SunReaders to help us find our daughter,” he said.
The family said they shared photos of Dineo on all social media platforms in the hopes of finding her, but they haven't been lucky.
“Her mother finds herself going into her room a lot and she just looks in and cries. She misses her and just wants her to come back home. You know 16-year-old kids, they’re attached to their cellphones, and it adds more pain that her phone is off,” said George.
He added that this is the scariest thing to ever happen to the family.
“The whole family is shocked and having sleepless nights. The situation is complicated because Dineo doesn’t even have friends, making it challenging to track her down,” he said.
Sebokeng police spokeswoman Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said a missing persons file has been opened for further investigation.
