Man killed while pouring petrol

A POLICE officer was on duty on Saturday, 27 January when he was alerted to an incident at a filling station in Chiawelo, Soweto.

According to police reports, three unknown people entered the filling station and went straight to a petrol attendant.

It is reported that the petrol attendant was busy filling up a car when three of the suspects got out their firearms and shot him from the back before walking away without taking anything from him.

The petrol attendant suffered multiple gunshot wounds on his back and eight cartridges and one expended bullet were discovered at the scene.

Police spokesman, Sergeant Antony Kgolosaid the deceased wore a blue T-shirt, blue trousers, and black work boots.

"The motivate behind the shooting is unknown at this time. The pathology team from Diepkloof mortuary attended the scene and the body was taken to Diepkloof government mortuary. No arrests have been made thus far,” he said.
