Correctional Supervision and Parole Board for the Kgosi Mampuru prison is expected to meet to consider if whether or not Oscar Pistorius suitable for social integration or not.

FORMER Paralympian athlete Oscar Pistorius’ parole hearing has been scheduled for Friday, 24 November, in Pretoria.

This is the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board at the Kgosi Mampuru prison, which is expected to meet to consider whether or not Pistorius is suitable for social integration.

This will be his second chance at parole nearly eight months after he was denied in March.

Pistorius was jailed in 2014 after being found guilty of killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine’s Day in February 2013.

The world-famous athlete fired four shots through a bathroom door because he believed there was an intruder inside the bathroom.

In 2014, Pistorius was initially found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to six years in prison, but the conviction was later turned to murder, and he was given a 13-year sentence.

Having spent half of his sentence already, it is now up to the parole board to decide whether or not he is eligible for parole.

A month ago in October, Daily Sun reported how the Constitutional Court has confirmed that Pistorius has been eligible for parole since March this year.
