BUILDING a sustainable and inclusive future is the key.
This was a sentiment shared by the Minister for Small Business Development, Stella Abrahams-Ndabeni, when she acknowledged the significant impact of the SAB Beyond ESG Awards.
The inaugural Beyond Awards, held at the AB InBev headquarters in Bryanston, Joburg on Tuesday, 3 October, aimed to shine a spotlight on South African organisations and individuals who have made a notable impact through their environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts.
South African Breweries (SAB) has partnered with ESG Africa Events to recognise the work of businesses and individuals to promote environmental initiatives.
Abrahams-Ndabeni said the awards were a testament to the unwavering commitment of African organisations and individuals.

Raveshni Maharaj of Sun International said they were delighted to receive the award for Best Sustainability Report.
"The award represents the journey we've been on over the last two years in terms of our sustainability report," she said.
Dr Jaisheila Rajput, CEO and founder of Tomorrow’s Matter Now, said winning the African Trailblazer Award was heart-warming.
"The award is a recognition of the work we're doing with our sustainable green economy or impact-based focus, which is gaining recognition in the market. This is the dream and vision we had from the beginning, that this is something that is central to the way we operate as a business.
"I'm excited because it means several things and recognises the fact that we're having a flagship year," she said.
She said the company was founded 10 years ago and winning the award gives them a morale boost.
