MULTIPLE injuries have allegedly been reported at Impala Platinum mine near Rustenburg in North West on Monday evening, 27 November.

This was allegedly after a cage fell down a shaft. 

According to reliable information received, the incident occurred at Impala's 11 Shaft. 

As far as could be ascertained, emergency services are still on the scene.

People were reportedly inside the cage when it allegedly fell down the shaft, with multiple injuries reported.

It's alleged that a counter weight rope snapped at the eighth level and the cage fell down. 

Workers are still reportedly trapped inside. No fatalities have been reported.
