FIVE suspects, four men and one woman, appeared in the Springs Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 15 November.
They all face charges of public violence, while accused three, four and five face additional charges of possession of dangerous weapons.
The five suspects were released on R1 500 bail each.
Initially, 13 mineworkers were arrested on Monday, 13 November outside Gold One Mine in Springs, Ekurhuleni. Eight of the 13 mineworkers were released as they were not linked to the incident, which happened on Monday during a standoff between cops and workers.
The magistrate told the accused not to engage in illegal strikes and should report to Springs cop shop once a week on Wednesday between 7am and 9am.

The accused's lawyer, Sweetness Khukhulela, said the eight suspects were released because they were not linked to the case.
She said: "Initially, the court had proposed R4 000 bail for each suspect which was going to be difficult for the miners to raise. The accused's colleagues who were in court donated the money for the five accused's bail."
The released mineworkers received a warm welcome from their colleagues who came to support them. The workers raised the money to ensure their colleagues were released on bail.
The Gold One workers were arrested for public violence on Monday, 13 November. The car of a NUM representative was allegedly set on fire by protesting miners on Sunday, 12 November.
On Monday, 13 November, cops opened fire at protesting Amcu members who demanded to be recognised. The miners threw petrol bombs at the cops which failed to explode. The case has been postponed to 31 January 2024.
