GAUTENG provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela was joined by the senior management of the SAPS and other law enforcement agencies during Operation Shanela.

The operation invaded Orlando West and Diepkloof on Thursday, 2 November.

The operation aims to stamp out the authority of the state and assist the local police stations with the reduction of crime.

Cops were also looking for stolen vehicles and unlicensed firearms, checking if foreign nationals had their documents in order, and they also did compliance inspections.
