A MAN and woman accused of breaking into a funeral parlour owner's house on Thursday, 26 October, made a brief appearance in the Klerksdorp Magistrates Court on Monday, 30 October.
The case against the two, Thuso Mokwane (34) and Gloria Gadinabokao (36), was postponed to Wednesday, 1 November, by prosecutor Rebecca Shuenyane for the confirmation of their addresses and for a bail application.
The Klerksdorp businessman Andrew Peterson, the owner of Mamokomane Funeral Parlour, was with his 27-year-old daughter and her mum in their house in Meiringspark, Klerksdorp in the North West, when their home was broken into.
The family was asleep in the house when the daughter was woken up by two suspects, wearing balaclavas, who threatened her with a firearm and demanded money from her.
Police said a third suspect joined them and the victim was then taken to her parents' room, where they were all tied up.

The suspects searched through the house and robbed the victims of their cellphones, money and a laptop.
Peterson said he managed to untie himself and fled through a window, which had injured him on his upper shoulder and on his leg when he ran for help from neighbours.
He said the suspects, after realising that he had escaped, fled the scene in the family's white Mercedes-Benz.
After the incident, the provincial police spokeswoman Colonel Adele Myburgh said the police on a patrol noticed two suspicious vehicles, a white Mercedes-Benz and a silver Volkswagen T-Roc, parked close to each other on Joubert Street, Freemanville, close to the N12 road in Klerksdorp. The cops observed the vehicles and requested back-up.
"The police approached the two vehicles, and one suspect ran away. While busy questioning the male and female sitting inside the Volkswagen, a radio message was received for the police to be on the lookout for a Mercedes-Benz vehicle that was stolen during an alleged house robbery.
"The members upon realising that the Mercedes-Benz matches the description given, immediately arrested the duo. Inside the vehicle, the police found money and cellular phones, believed to have been robbed during the house robbery," Myburgh said.
