THE last words she heard from her four-year-old son were him begging for his life.

And Zamokuhle Ntuli said she would have to live with the regret of not being able to save her child.

THIS AFTER HER SON, BAFANA WAS STABBED TO DEATH IN FULL VIEW OF AN AUDIENCE ON FRIDAY, 2 SEPTEMBER, ALLEGEDLY BY HIS FATHER.

The horrific incident happened at Zamokuhle’s home in Block 9 in Snake Park, Soweto.

Zamokuhle (27) said her boyfriend (36) was abusive and whenever they had an argument, he used to threaten to kill her and their children.

She said she didn’t take the threats seriously until she broke up with him on Thursday, 1 September.

“He came to my house and told me he is going to kill us, but this time, I could see he was serious. On Friday morning, I decided to hide, but I didn’t think he would harm Bafana,” she said.

She said he took the little boy and dragged him out into the street.

“I was shown a video where he stabbed him multiple times in the stomach, chest and back. My child was screaming for his life,” she said.

Zamokuhle said her boyfriend was later caught by residents at a tavern where he was drinking with blood on his hands.

“He killed my child like he was slaughtering an animal,” she said.

Zamokuhle said on the day of his death, Bafana told his cousins he would be the first to be killed by his father.

“They told me Bafana was restless and kept saying his father was going to kill us and would start with him,” she said.

Gauteng Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said police have arrested a father for the alleged murder of his four-year-old child in Doornkop, Soweto, on Friday, 2 September 2022.

He’s expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Monday, 5 September.
