ACTING Judge Lillian van Wyk is expected to deliver the sentence in the case of Orange Farm convicted child murderer Pontsho Mohlanka today, Tuesday 13 September, at the high court sitting in Palm Ridge.
Mohlanka was found guilty last month of killing Mzwandile Zitho (5), Simphiwe Mgcina (6) and Mpho Makondo (8) between April and September 2020.
Mzwandile’s naked body was found inside Pontsho’s tavern between a fridge and a counter in April. Mohlanka was arrested for the murder and was in custody until September.
She was provisionally released as the state was awaiting a toxicology report as poisoning was suspected as the cause of death.

A few days after she was released, Mpho and Simphiwe went missing and their naked bodies were found the next day.
During the trial, Pontsho told the court that her then boyfriend told her they needed to sacrifice two children.
She then told the court that her boyfriend was involved in killing two kids because the “creature” in their house wanted a sacrifice of two kids or it was going to turn on their family.
She then said she last saw the two kids at the sangoma where she went for cleansing, which she alleged was organised by her boyfriend.
On Tuesday morning, it was a full house as community members came in their numbers to support the families.
