A TSOTSI died a painful death while running away from his victims.
According to Cape Town MMC of Safety and Security Jean-Pierre Smith, two men robbed hikers of their cellphones on Table Mountain in Cape Town on Sunday, 21 January and ran away.
One of the muggers was pepper sprayed by the tour guide during the scuffle, but the muggers managed to run away with phones and disappeared in the bushes, leaving the hikers traumatised.
One of the stolen phones was not switched off and although it rang, it wasn't answered.
The matter was then reported to the cops who tracked the phone with the victim.

“Trying to locate one of the cellphones that had been stolen, the phone was still showing up close to where the robbery had taken place. SAPS returned on Monday, 22 January along with members of SANParks.
"Attempting to locate the device and using the last location transmitted, it was discovered that the mugger had fallen off the trail along with some of the stolen possessions. His cause of death and the surrounding circumstances will likely be investigated by SAPS,” said Smith.
Police spokesman Colonel Malcom Pojie said a case was opened at Camps Bay Police Station and investigations are underway.
“On Monday, national park rangers and police followed the signal of one of the stolen phones and discovered the body of one of the suspects in a gorge on Table Mountain. They also recovered two cellphones where the body of the man, in his mid-20s, was found,” said Pojie.
