ACCUSED two in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Bongani Ntanzi, is accused of being inconsistent with his own version of events after his arrest.
His lawyer, Thulani Mngomezulu, presented a different version of events from what Ntanzi told the court.
Ntanzi was being cross-examined in the North Gauteng High Court on Monday, 12 February by state prosecutor, Ronnie Sibanda.
The trial within a trial is to establish the admissibility of his confession statements where he accused the police of violating his rights.
His lawyer previously told the court that Ntanzi was assaulted when police were taking him from Tshwane to the Moroka Police Station in Soweto.
"That version was put as if you were going to Moroka,” Sibanda said.
“I don't remember, my Lord. I also forget as I am on the stand,” Ntanzi responded.

"Are you now disputing it and distancing yourself from it?" Sibanda asked.
“My lord, I cannot speak for Mngomezulu because he will be able to speak to the court," Ntanzi replied.
Sibanda said Advocate Mngomezulu said the first time Ntanzi was assaulted was at the filling station in Alberton.
Ntanzi said he was not in a position to respond.
“I can't respond on behalf of Mngomezulu but the first time was when I was arguing with (Sergeant Steven) Mabena.”
Sibanda then told Ntanzi that he was present in court when Mngomezulu said so.
Ntanzi only said: “I will not deny that as a lot of things are said in court.”
“So you can't deny what he said was your instructions,” Sibanda pressed him further.
“Even if I instruct him, he knows how to address the court,” responded Ntanzi.
Ntanzi is one of the five men accused of killing the former Bafana Bafana captain back on 26 October 2014.
