MUZI Sibiya stood firm during the Senzo Meyiwa trial when he was cross-examined.

Sibiya, who is accused one was cross-examined at the North Gauteng High Court on Tuesday, 6 February.

This follows a bombshell from Monday, 5 February, when Sibiya accused the police of treating him like an animal.

He said police tubed him with plastic until he urinated on himself.

Sibiya is one of the five men accused of the murder of former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates player Senzo Meyiwa.

During the trial-within-a-trial proceedings, Advocate Ronnie Sibanda pressed Sibiya but he reiterated that he didn’t write a confession statement but it was already written when he signed it.

“No. I never made or wrote a statement. He only produced documents that were already written to sign. To what was in those documents I don’t know,” he told the court.

Sibanda asked if Sibiya was driven around Diepkloof, Vosloorus, and Thembisa and assaulted only for him to sign the papers.

Sibiya said: “When they assaulted me in Thembisa they asked about Senzo and I responded that I don’t know anything about his death. In Vosloorus, they still asked me about his death I told them I knew nothing about his death but they continued assaulting me.”

Sibanda was standing in for Prosecutor Advocate George Baloyi who is currently absent.
