ACCUSED number two in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial says the police had him examined by a dentist against his will to determine whether he had a gold tooth, or not.
Bongani Ntanzi was testifying in the North Gauteng High Court on Friday, 9 February.
Ntanzi is one of the five men accused of killing the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo's family home on 26 October 2014.
It has been alleged that one of the people who was with the people who shot Meyiwa had a good tooth.
His lawyer, Sipho Ramosepele, led the evidence and asked Ntanzi if he had given his consent to be taken to the dentist, to which he refused.
"Did you consent to be taken to the dentist and examined?" he asked.
"No, how could I when I was even assaulted by the police who said I had my gold tooth out?" Ntanzi asked.
Ramosepele then said: "On June 22, it was recorded that you were taken to Dr (Thabang) Hlokwe."
Ntanzi agreed that he had been taken to Dr Hlokwe.
"Yes, but I didn't know where I was taken to, I only saw it when I got there," Ntanzi said.
Dr Hlokwe said in a statement last week that there was no indication that Ntanzi had a gold tooth before.

Ntanzi also disputed that he had a heart condition.
"Since I've been employed, I've never been hit by a stone in the mines. I've never been hit by a stone." he said.
He also denied ever consulting with his lawyer, Dominic Mjiyako, who had upset him during their first appearance in the Boksburg Magistrates Court in 2020.
The trial will continue on Monday, 12 February.
