TV presenter and musician Jub Jub, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, was accompanied by his team during his appearance in the Joburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 11 December.

His case was postponed to 5 February 2024.

This comes after Jub Jub's defence lawyer, Terrence Baloyi, asked if it was possible for the matter to be postponed to 6 February and asked for documents regarding claims made against his client.

The magistrate said it could be moved to 5 February as she would be busy with court dates in January, adding that the only date she could give them was 5 February.

Magistrate Betty Khumalo told Baloyi that this was the only time they could accommodate them.

The presenter is facing multiple charges, including rape and assault.

In November 2023, Jub Jub's case was postponed as the state needed more time to consult with the witnesses and complainants.

During the court proceedings, the magistrate argued with Jub Jub's representative, Baloyi from Baloyi Ntsako Attorneys, that they couldn't extend the dates further as this should be their priority.

He was also asked if this was a matter of life and death but said it was about his tour.

In October, Baloyi asked for an adjournment to consult and study the docket further.

In July, the Uyajola 9/9 presenter was released on bail of R10 000.

This after he handed himself over to the Brixton Police Station.

Some of his bail conditions included that he shouldn't communicate with the victims or the complainants or attempt to be in contact with them.

The magistrate also raised a concern about the documents or statements being leaked to the media of the complainants.

"I'm worried of who leaked them. This is not good at all," magistrate Khumalo said.

She said it would be great if the investigation officer was in.

"If we find that person who leaked the information, we will take legal actions against them."

She said this must not be given out as it is part of the court proceedings.

Baloyi told the media that he's confident that he is going to win this case as there's nothing there for his client.

"We have provided everything that they asked for. We have requested for the documents as some of the claims we didn't understand."

"If someone claims that they have been raped and wait for a long period. That means there is nothing against him," Baloyi said.
