JUB JUB to appear in court after the TV host made a brief appearance in the Joburg Magistrates Court on Thursday, 24 August.

The musician, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, faces charges of rape, attempted murder, and assault.

The matter was postponed to Wednesday, 8 November, after his lawyer, Terrence Ntsako Baloyi, asked for an adjournment so he could consult and study the docket further.

In July, the Uyajola 99 presenter was released on bail of R10 000. This after he handed himself over to the Brixton Police Station.

Some of his bail conditions included that he should not communicate with the victims or the complainants or attempt to be in contact with them.

Jub Jub was also told to leave his passport with the investigative officer. He was also told that if he did not comply with these conditions, he would be taken back to jail.

Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Phindi Mjonodwane, a spokeswoman, said the first case against Jub Jub was opened in February 2022, and there are three complaints.

Meanwhile, comedian Tumi Matila's assault case will take place on Wednesday, 8 November, after it was postponed on Thursday, 12 October.

The 31-year-old  will appear at  Randburg Magistrates Court. This is after the prosecutor said the case was postponed for further investigations.

He was arrested at the Honeydew Police Station on Tuesday, 7 August. The comedian allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Thando Ngemane and her friend, Tsholofelo Kgosimotho.

In August, the Joburg-based comedian was released on R2 000 bail. The comedian was then released because both complaints did not oppose his bail.

The state prosecutor said his bail conditions still stand as they are, and he must not be in contact with the complainants or communicate with them. She said the comedian must not be seen around their workplace or home.

He must also not reach out to them via social media platforms or harass them.

If the comedian is found to have broken these rules, he will be taken back to jail, and his bail conditions will be revoked again as he did not comply with the law.

He was also served with a protection order from the complainants, his girlfriend Thando and her friend Tsholofelo.
