Robert owns a business property in his hometown of Nkandla, northern KZN, called Fort Louis also known as KwaMarawa. He inherited it from his late dad, Frank who was a well-known businessman in Nkandla and Durban.

Robert’s business property is rented out by other businesspeople who operate spaza shops, supermarkets and bottle stores.
