COMEDIAN, Stopnonsons will be back in court in March.

This after he appeared briefly in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 19 February. His case was postponed to Friday, 1 March to allow him to consult his attorney.

Stopnonsons, whose real name is Tumi Matila, faces two counts of assault and one of pointing an object resembling a firearm. During court proceedings in December 2023, magistrate Louise Etchell said the 31-year-old was still out on bail.

During his appearance on Monday, Stopnonsons was told that his bail condition has been extended.

"You must also be on time on 1 March. Your bail is extended and failure to appear on this date your bail will be revoked," Etchell said.

She warned the comedian not to contact the complainant.

Stopnonsons allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Thando Ngemane, and her friend, Tsholofelo Kgosimotho. He was arrested at the Honeydew Police Station on 7 August 2023 and released on R2 000 bail.

After his appearance on Monday, he ran to his BMW Gusheshe when the SunTeam approached him for comment. He used a brown envelope to hide his face and was unwilling to comment on the outcome of his case.
