COMEDIAN and TV presenter Stopnonsons is due to appear before the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 4 December.

The funnyman, whose real name is Tumi Matila (31), will be at court to answer to a case of assault.

Stopnonsons is alleged to have assaulted his girlfriend Thando Ngemane and her friend Tsholofelo Kgosimotho.

On Wednesday, 8 November 2023 he appeared briefly, and his case was postponed to 4 December.

The case was postponed after a shooting occurred outside the court on the same day in which a couple was killed.

The couple were witnesses in a trial of four police officers charged with assault. They were on their way to court when a gunman jumped out of a black Mercedes-Benz and shot them.

The murdered female victim was due to be cross-examined this week after giving evidence as a key witness in the matter.

The case was also postponed in October because the investigating officer had died.

On Thursday, 12 October 2023, after Stopnonsons' case was postponed, the prosecutor said further investigations would be carried out.

Stopnonsons was arrested by Honeydew cops on Tuesday, 7 August 2023 for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and her friend. He was later released on R2 000 bail.

The comedian was released because the two complainants did not object to his bail.

The prosecutor said his bail conditions still apply, adding that he is not allowed to contact the complainants on social media or harass them in any way.

Stopnonsons was ordered not to interfere or intimidate them. The court said if he violates those rules, he'll ll be arrested and his bail conditions will be revoked.
