MZANSI celebs went out in their numbers on Wednesday night, 9 November, to witness the premiere of Black Panther 2.
The premiere was held in Rosebank, Joburg and on the black carpet were stars like Anele Mdoda, Somizi Mhlongo, Nambitha Mpumlwana, Zenande Mfenyana, Langa Mavuso, Noxolo Dlamini, K. Noami, Sino Msolo and Kamo Mphela.
The theme was Afrofuturism and the stars wore their best versions of the theme and showed them off on the black carpet.

Black Panther 2 has been highly anticipated since the successful release of the first film in 2018. People wanted to see it even more after the lead actor, Chadwick Boseman, died of cancer in 2020.
The cast includes Letitia Wright , Angela Basset, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne and Mzansi’s very own Connie Chiume.

Some of the stars who attended the premiere spoke to Daily Sun about the film.
Anele said the film is one of the best she’s ever watched.
“It’s an amazing cinematic piece of work. It is brilliant. When I spoke to the cast, they said Ryan Coogler doesn’t hire you if you’re not empathetic. Talent doesn’t matter to him. You must be more than an actor or actress. This movie will show people that he’s right by choosing to answer people who give more than talent to the role,” she said.
When asked if she enjoyed it more than the first film, she said: “It is ten times better than the first one. Everything, the camera angles, the music, the acting, the storyline, the emotion, the laughs. It’s so good.”
Zenande spoke to Daily Sun before the film and said she wanted to see how they would honour Chadwick.

“As sad as it is, I wanted to see the tribute to Chadwick. I’m looking forward to that. I think knowing that he’s not going to be in the movie, for me, I want to know what they’ll do without him. I’m also looking forward to seeing our very own mama Connie,” she said.
The film premieres in cinemas on Friday. 11 November.
