SATURDAY night was a big one for radio stations and personalities as the SA Radio Awards were held and commercial radio stations, community and campus radio stations received awards.
The radio stations went into the awards with a lot of nominations. The SABC had over 100 nominations, while Kaya959 had 12 and 947 had 18.

Radio station 947 walked away with the Commercial Station of the Year award, PBS Station of the Year went to SAFM, Campus Station of the Year is TUKS FM 107.2 and GROOTFM 90.5 won Community Station of The Year.
Anele Mdoda won Breakfast Show Presenter Commercial for her show on 947, while Breakfast Show Presenter PBS went to O’Nel Nair from Lotus FM and Kgomotso Monyai from Vow FM won Breakfast Show Presenter Campus.
The Afternoon Drive Presenter winners were 947’s Thando Thabethe for commercial, Vow FM’s Junior Malinga for campus radio, Helderberg FM’s Anele Du Plessis for community and Radio 2000’s Glen Lewis for PBS.
The Breakfast Show Commercial went to Jacaranda FM’s Breakfast With Martin Bester.

The Music Show Commercial category had multiple winners – the 947 Top 40, the Ultimate Kaya 959 Top 30 With DJ Keyez and the Top 40 From Metro FM all won.
The Bright Star Inductees are Aaron Masemola, Asakhe Ngxonono, Dylan Pepler, Mihlali Matyana, Owen Crafford, Simthande Myeza, Siphelele Nzuza, Talitha Counter and Tshegofatso Seleke.
The Hall Of Fame Inductees are Benjy Mudie, Hennie Koortzen, Mark Jennings, Nadia Bulbulia, Siphiwo Magoda and Trish Taylor.
