Lindi Sirame as she celebrates her first ever radio nomination in the South African Radio Awards.
The 31-year-old radio news anchor shared the news on her Instagram on Wednesday, 14 September.
The presenter from Venda, Limpopo wrote: “This is such a big deal for me. I’ve been nominated in the South African Radio Awards for the first time.”
She said she really loves what she does and didn’t expect to be nominated for the award.
Lindi is nominated under News Bulletin Readers category for Metro FM. She’s up against her SABC news colleagues Kgopedi Lilokoe and Melanie Bala in the same category.
“I honestly love what I do every day, and just the recognition from the industry colleagues alongside amazing professionals in my field, means so much,” she said.
The presenter also thanked Metro FM for believing in her and giving her a chance to showcase her skills.

“You can refer to me as Nomi or sis Nominay,” she said.
She’s been nominated for reading the news on Moflava and Khutso Theledi’s breakfast show, Wake Up On Metro FM, airing on weekdays from 5am to 9am.
Lindi, who recently joined SABC news channel called Prime News on SABC3, was over the moon when she shared this news.
The presenter has been a presenter for a while since she was a teenager. She started her career on YFM under YFM Academy programme. She has also worked on Kaya 959, as well as Newzroom Afrika.

Her fans were super excited for her and shared how proud they were on her Instagram account.
“We’ll refer to you as Winnie. Sis Winner,” Goliath commented.
Mogabelo KG congratulated her and also called her by her new name, sister Nominay.
“Congratulations, sister Nominay,” Nthabeleng said.
Vigilance congratulated the presenter and said she will win this award.
