IT has been a month since Thabo Ndlovu from Emalahleni in Mpumalanga won the final season of Idols SA.
The 26-year-old, who walked away with R1 million cash among other prizes in season 19 of the show, said he's still the same shy and humble person he was before joining the show.
He told Daily Sun that it’s been great for him.
“The love and support have been quite overwhelming and emotional for me. It’s one thing to see people love you during the competition but when people still show love after the show, it is something else,” he said.
He said going into the competition he told himself that he won’t be defined by the title and fame.
“My journey on the show taught me to remain humble and that I shouldn’t look at myself as someone who's now bigger than everyone else. It also taught me that I should remain true to who I am and that saying 'thank you' and 'please' will get me a long way,” he said.
Thabo said he is using his money wisely.

“Besides music, I want to venture into property. I love property and architecture,” he said.
He said that many people don’t know that he is shy.
“I am an introvert, I am very shy around people I don’t know,” he said.
He said he is called to be the person he is.
“What I was called for is bigger than myself. I no longer live just for me but for that young boy and girl that sees me as a point of reference to say that if God can do it for Thabo then he can do it for me,” he said.
He said that he is humbled by the things people say to him.
“People get so excited and happy when they see me and even older people can see what God has done in my life,” he said.
Thabo said that he will be releasing music next year.
