SAMA award-winning composer, songwriter and producer, Mnqobi Nxumalo, has just released two brand new singles.
The songs, titled Most Holy One and Phezu Komhlaba, were released recently and will be part of his upcoming album, The Pursuit.
Speaking about the songs, the 34-year-old Joyous Celebration member from Empangeni in KZN said: “Phezu Komhlaba is a touching classic that will graciously usher fans into the spirit, while Most Holy One strikes a perfect balance between praise and worship.
“When people listen to my music, I would like them to have a sense of belonging. I would like to believe that the album has a piece of something for everybody. It could be something to learn or a certain level of healing or enlightenment."
Although this is his third album, it’s his first live DVD recording.
“I’ve always wanted to record a live album, but I’ve been running from it. In the process of making my music, I chose the title the pursuit in the sense that I am pursuing God. In finding Him, communing with Him, I find myself. Everything I’m meant to be and everything God said I would be.
“The Pursuit is seeking to find self in God and in the music, seeking to understand God through the gift that He’s given unto me, not just as a Christian but also as a creative,” he said.
