MULTITALENTED producer Lebogang Thubakgale, also known as DJ Lebza The Villain (29), has been setting global stages on fire with his hot amapiano hits.

His recent song with singer Nandi Madida has also been hitting the right notes.

“We dropped a new track, titled Want You, and it’s doing well. Nandi brings that-old school nostalgic sound, and it was something I looked forward to when the opportunity to work with her presented itself.”

And if home is where the heart is, then Lebza’s success greatly epitomises this.

“Ever since my post hit 700k listens, the numbers shot up to 2,2 million on Apple Music and 1,2 million on Spotify,” said Lebza, who grew up in Ivory Park, Tembisa.

His fans were recently treated to a one-man show, with Lebza playing drums in his set.

“I’m a creative first, and I don’t like to be boxed in. I’m always excited to add a new element to my performance,” he said.

In his short career, Lebza has become a global star, continuing to celebrate significant milestones including Night of The Villain – his five-hour set, and a BBC Radio nod.

“I have been hosting Night of The Villain for four years. The Waterfall Market was an extension as I wanted to involve families.

“Then BBC Radio invited me because it was celebrating 20 years of African music,” he said.

Lebza shared that we can expect a brand new EP from him next year.

And, he has a soft spot for kids! But does he have his own
