NATHI Mankayi has stayed relevant through four albums and his fifth studio album, Usiba Lwe Gazi,is about to hit the scene.

We caught up with him for Famous Friday and he gave us some insights into his upcoming adventure.

Fans will know he has already shared some of his new music with SunLand.

“Last week, I dropped my first single from the album, Sondela, featuring Tee Tee,” he said.

“I wanted to promote but the other tracks feature me by myself.”

The Umtata-born artist said his fans will be treated to a new sound that is something of a surprise.

“I purposefully did this to musically unbox myself and inspire those who look up to me.

“I’m saying Nathi doesn’t only work with Zahara. Nathi can jump on an amapiano beat and collaborate with artists like Kabza de Small and Focalistic,” he said.

His album drops on 21 October and will be released independently.

“This shows I’m independent and can stand on my own feet.

“I have a partnership with Gallo, that makes me extremely happy.”

Nathi said a lot is still bubbling under in terms of future projects.

“I’m concentrating on my album release right now.

“I also have a growing relationship with Open-Mic, so the future looks bright,” he said.
