THE second instalment of the South African Dance Music Awards will take place at the Durban Playhouse on Saturday, 2 September.

Among the nominees are KZN promoter, Lindo "Dogg DBN" Buthelezi, DJ Dlala Thukzin, DJ Q as well as singers Ami Faku and Russell Zuma. Dogd Dbn could not hide his excitement and took to Facebook to share his nomination letter.

It read as follows: “Dear DOGG DBN I write to notify you on behalf of the South African Dance Music Awards committee of an award nomination in the category: Best Event Promoter, Best Festival/Event and Best Compilation Album. We extend our warmest congratulations to you for this remarkable achievement.

“Your passion, artistry, and dedication to your craft have not gone unnoticed. We salute you and wish you the best of luck in the final selection process,” read the letter.

Dog DBN told Daily Sun that he deserve the nominations.

"I worked hard and not just for myself, but for my colleagues in the entertainment industry. The board must have recognised my work and decided to put up my name for nomination. Out of the three nominations I should receive at least one. However, I know how awards work, so I’ll understand if I don’t win,” he said.

He said his hard work is only paying off now. “It is only through hard work that I’m where I am today. I’ve had so many setbacks in my career, but I never gave up. Sometimes people didn’t even think I’d bounce back, but I did,” said Dogg Durban.
