CONTENT creator Zethu Gqola has been nominated for a DStv Content Creators Award in the category, Knowledge Sharing Award.
The Cape Town-based marketing strategist is known for her massive TikTok following as an entertainment and pop culture commentator.
She has been nominated alongside Becoming Dr Andy, CharliXBoi, Financial Bunny and Mooshtaffa.
The awards will be held at The Galleria in Sandton on Saturday, 9 September.
Zethu said she can’t believe she has been nominated and is grateful for the nomination.
“I can’t believe I have been nominated mostly because although I’m categorically a content creator. It's something I have fought from admitting because the kind of content I make comes so naturally to me. It never really hits that I’m creating.
“I’m really grateful for it. I would have never imagined it and I’m bursting with excitement. I guess this validates that I’m a real creator and maybe it’s time to own it,” she said.
Zethu, who made a name for herself with her video titled Accident, which went viral on TikTok a year ago, has more than 200 000 followers on TikTok.

She was one of the first South African content creators to crack an invite to experience the exclusive Hallmark House Hotel penthouse suite designed by Grammy award-winning artist, DJ Black Coffee.
Zethu was also one of the official TikTok South Africa correspondents at the South African Music Awards 2022 and regularly makes TV appearances to weigh in on pop culture and current affairs.
She said that having worked in the music industry for over a decade, she is an all-round thought leader and no stranger to sharing her industry knowledge, having lent her voice to organisations such as Spotify and the SAMA.
