ZAKWE has shot one of the most expensive music videos in Mzansi.

The rapper, whose real name is Ntokozo Zakwe, told Daily Sun that he needed something out of the ordinary.

The 35-year-old from KwaMashu in KZN wants to be remembered for the great content he gives his fans.

Zakwe said shooting the music video over the weekend was a dream come true for him for his latest single, titled Thixo Wam.

He said he made it with the assistant of Mandla Ngcongwane, who is best known as Mandla N under Black Brain Pictures around Joburg areas.

He featured Riot, Zola 7, and Big Zulu on the song.

"The R1 million budget came with Black brain pictures when they were willing to assist me with the song released on 23 June.

"I didn’t know the budget. When I saw the treatment, I knew he meant business. The production, the cameras, cameos he got, the set he hired and extras," Zakwe said.

The song is used as a background sound for the e.tv drama series, Isitha: The Enemy

Zakwe said everything from production, gear, cameos, and director was worth about a million rand.

"Mandla N believes in quality, and I guess he has experience. He has done a lot for the industry as an artist. He understands some of the problems we face. We appreciate him and his company for assisting us.

"What is in store for me is more music, and right now, we are focusing on pushing the single. I will be doing a tour and releasing more music," he said.

Zakwe said he will perform at Disoufeng Pub in Soweto on Friday, 28 July.

The musician said his fans are welcome to witness his greatness this weekend.

Isitha: The Enemy airs on Monday to Friday at 9.30pm.
