MULTI-AWARD-winning rapper Zakwe said he has done all in music and has no time to brag about his achievements.
He is now dedicating his time to using music to motivate other people.
The rapper from KwaMashu in KZN recently released his motivating single titled Thixo Wami featuring Riot, Zola and Big Zulu. He said the song is aimed at reviving hope for the hopeless.
The 35-year-old rapper said the time for rappers to write songs and brag about what they have is over because people already know what they have.
“People are hopeless because of the many challenges they face, and they need us as artists to write songs that will motivate and heal them.
“This song is a taste of what my upcoming album will look like. It will focus on healing songs. I have realised that we need more healing and prayer music than dance,” he said.

Zakwe said he is preparing to release his 10-track new album in October after he last released his joint album with Duncan in 2020.
“I’m happy that music lovers have given my new single a warm welcome because, at times, fans don’t give a warm welcome if an artist has not released music in a long time.
“I took a long time not releasing because I was trying to develop hip-hop music for the up-and-coming artists in different places around KZN,” he said.
He recently hosted his young artist discovery programme, Hood vs Hood, where he gave up-and-coming rappers from different townships to compete against each other on stage.
