Kelly Khumalo said her recent album will make her connect with her fans more.

MZANSI’s multi-award winning singer and songwriter, Kelly Khumalo has done it again.

The musician continues to give her fans what they want and has now released a new banging album.

The Empini hitmaker officially released her latest album, From a God to a King, following her success with The Voice of Africa.

She told Daily Sun that the new album is dubbed her best work to date and it features Mondli Ngcobo on production.

She said the album also features artists such as Mbuso Khoza on Isivikelo and Sbu Soule on Ngisize, as well as Zakwe and Mthunzi on the lead single, Bazokhuluma.

Speaking about the album, Kelly said that she wrote the song Uyathandwa and it is close to her heart.

“I’ve written many songs throughout my career and Uyathandwa is just one of them. The difference with this one is that I had to vocalise my love life at that particular time, even more to share it with the world,” she said.

Kelly said Uyanthandwa speaks about being in love with someone but being afraid to tell them because you don’t want to have your heart broken.

“I believe a lot of people will love this one and will relate to it,” she said.

She said the inspiration behind her album is owning her supernatural gift which is her voice, and using it to share her music with the world.

“The album is about spirituality, love and my experiences as an individual,” she said.

She said she wanted to be closer to her fans on this album.

“I wanted to share my journey with omakhelwane with the hope that they can also see themselves through this, be encouraged, heal and own their God given gift and rise above everything that is set to destroy them,” she said.

Kelly said she is only working on music for now.

“Music is the focus right now. There's so much to be done with this partial album, including the visuals that were shot in March to be released in May,” she said.
