SENZO Vilakazi, popularly known as Kwesta, celebrated his music journey in style.
On Saturday, 12 August, the multi-award-winning rapper produced an electrifying performance with a live tour and concert dubbed The 16th Bar Legacy Tour at Carnival City's Big Top Arena in Brakpan, Ekurhuleni. He performed his songs which also included collaborations with different artists in celebration of his 16 years in the game.
The rapper from Katlehong in Ekurhuleni released a hit titled Ngud’ in collaboration with Cassper Nyovest in 2016, which became one of his most popular songs.
Kwesta also gained recognition when he released his third studio album Dakar II, which became the country’s best-selling hip-hop album of all time. Kwesta (34) wowed the patrons and related his music journey while performing some of his greatest songs such as Spirit, Ngiyaz’fela Ngawe featuring Thabsie, Ngud’ featuring Cassper Nyovest and Nomayini.
Kwesta said: “I’m thanking all the artists who have featured in my albums. I remember when I was rapping in the garage, some artists joined and we managed to create songs which have become part of my music journey.”

The legendry hip-hop group Skwatta Kamp were among the guest artists who performed at the concert, while DJ Zihle kept music fans on their toes with her spectacular set on the decks.
Hip-hop music lovers who came in numbers said they enjoyed the concert.
Shama Zamisa from Secunda in Mpumalanga said: “Kwesta lived up to my expectation and the performance was out of this world. We need to support our own artist who spent hours and hours producing music.”
Charity Gama from Katlehong said she and her friends love Kwesta’s music.
She said: “We came here to support him. Kwesta is from our kasi, and we are proud of his achievement in the music industry.”
Boni Mani from Fleurhof in Roodepoort said the show was amazing.
She said: "We have been missing such performance since Covid-19 hit Mzansi. The concert featured a lot of artists and big up to Kwesta and all of the musicians. Their performances entertained on Saturday."
Lucia Mabotja from Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni said: "I wanted to see Kwesta performing live and his performance was outstanding.
“It was the most exhilarating experience of my life. With the music and dancing and lights, it was all just a spectacular show.”
