AFTER sustaining a knee injury over a year ago while on set, actress Thandeka Dawn King is back doing what she loves.
The talented actress, who plays the feisty Thandiwe on Mzansi Magic’s loved series, DiepCity, took to social media to share the good news.
“This, I have missed. What a journey. Thank you God for another opportunity to do what I love – the only thing that heals me.
“I am indeed back on my feet again. Thank you to everyone who supported me during this journey,” she said.
After the accident, Thandeka was forced to take a break from acting as she had a leg brace and had to use a crutch to walk around.
Months after the accident last year, she re-appeared on the drama series, sparking excitement among her fans, but later disappeared again.

Speaking to Daily Sun at the time, Dawn said she was lucky that her character wore long skirts because she could just continue where she left off.
She said viewers wouldn’t notice that she had a leg brace as most of her scenes were shot with her sitting down.
“I continued with the normal storyline, wearing clothes that don’t reveal my leg injury.
“Another fortunate thing is that I am not moving around a lot for this role so viewers won’t notice anything,” she said at the time.

Speaking about her injury and how the past months were, the seasoned actress said this was a nightmare.
She added that she became depressed in the process.
“I love my work and I love moving around at home. When doctors told me I would have to sit down for a good three months, not going to work and not moving around, that sent me straight into depression,” she said. “I’m thankful I had a very supportive family, employer, colleagues, agent and doctors,” she said.
