IT seems like playing the character of a security guard follows actor Siboniso Nxumalo everywhere he goes.
The actor previously played a security guard, Oscar, on Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Isithembiso.
Now he has landed the same role in the SABC2 soapie, Muvhango.
He said as much as he is excited to join the cast of one of Mzansi’s biggest shows, he wished he could get a different role in future.
He said he had hoped to get a different role on Muvhango when he went for the auditions.
“I went to Muvhango to audition for another role. But the producers said the security guard role would suit me.
“I said: ‘That’s the role I was playing on Isithembiso’. But I was grateful to get the job,” said Siboniso.

On Muvhango, he is a security guard who is assigned at the hospital.
He said his character is a bit different though.
“On Isithembiso, security guard Oscar had an element of comedy. And on Muvhango, my character is very serious. There are no jokes,” he said.
Siboniso said that he knows that he’s a talented actor and he trust himself with his talent.
“I’m talented and good at what I do. So I trust myself that if I am given a different role, I can be very impressive,” said Siboniso.
The actor said that he’s happy to be rubbing shoulders with Muvhango actors.
“This is one of my highlights as an actor. Saying I’m excited would be an understatement. I’m rubbing shoulders with talented actors. It’s amazing and helps me to grow in my field of art,” added Siboniso.
